A very intimate 6-night voyage through French Polynesia’s Leeward Islands and share with us an experience more like a private yacht holiday with friends. Enjoy excellent food with great company and luxurious accommodation. Dine under the stars, paddle board or kayak the lagoons, swim and snorkel in crystal clear warm tropical waters, wander exquisite beaches or simply relax on deck with a cocktail.
Boarding starts from 4:00pm on the central Papeete waterfront. After the Captain’s welcome, crew introductions, safety briefing and dinner, we depart for an overnight cruise to the Vanilla Island of Taha’a.
Wake this morning at Taha’a with dramatic sea views. A refreshing swim before breakfast then we tender ashore for a visit to a local organic vanilla plantation. Lunch is served on board while cruising the northern shores through the many motu’s surrounding the main island. A crew hosted coral garden snorkelling expedition where the current drifts you past coral formations and the abundant sea life. This is South Seas paradise with islands in the foreground and where the sun sets over the distant towering peaks of beautiful Bora Bora. We visit a local boutique pearl farm where you can learn about the Tahitian pearl culture and even have an opportunity to actually dive for your own pearl. After dinner we cross to beautiful Bora Bora and anchor inside the world-famous lagoon.
Awake and pinch yourself. You are inside Bora Bora lagoon with Mount Otemanu dominating the landscape. Start the day with for a swim off the ship, then a leisurely breakfast before we are collected for a shark and ray excursion. Alternatively you can tender ashore for a walk or simply relax on board. Lunch and water sports activities off Toopu Island are planned this afternoon. Prior to dinner you are invited for an aperitif with the Captain, ashore at the famous Bloody Mary’s bar. We are overnight at anchor.
Walk off breakfast in the township before we are collected for a guided island history, Marae and Faaroa river canoe tour. Learn the history of Raiatea as we wind up the Faaroa river, Tahiti’s only ‘navigable river’ before we rendezvous with the ship in the eastern lagoon for lunch. Later, while dinner is served on the aft deck, we cruise across to the garden Island of Huahine.
Be woken by the smell of frangipanis and the tropical sounds of this lush oasis. Tenders are going ashore to sable blanc beach for swimming activity and beach combing. Lunch is served on board with more beach time and a snorkelling trip before we relocate to Haapu beach where we are entertained this evening by a local cultural group with Tahitian singing and dancing. Once the show and dinner is completed and everyone is settled, we overnight cruise to Moorea.
Awake this morning inside the beautiful lagoon with the dramatic mountainous backdrop that is Moorea. After breakfast the crew host a snorkel safari where you may spot a ray or black tipped reef shark. This afternoon we tender ashore for a scenic guided tour into the hills and rainforest of Moorea. Cocktails at sunset and a farewell dinner on board with the crew before we slowly cruise back across the channel to dock in Papeete very late in the evening.
A light continental breakfast is served for those early risers having to disembark at 7am for early flights to NZ. Guests who are staying on in Papeete can enjoy a relaxed breakfast on deck before disembarking at 10am.
